Marcus Vick

For those of you who follow sports, specifically college football, have been amazed by the absolute idiotic on and off field antics by Michael Vick's younger brother Marcus Vick. Blessed with the ability to play Div. 1 football and possibly a shot at an NFL team, Marcus Vick has destroyed his future this past week. For the full story read here. To summarize, he helps his team win the Gator Bowl on Jan. 2nd. By Jan. 5th he is kicked off his team for several on and off field incidents - the last being a wicked and cheap shot "stomping on the left calf" of the opposing teams player. To make it worse, he tells everyone he feels bad and had apologized to Dumervile (the opposing player he had stomped on). Dumervile denies any such action by Vick. Apparently there had been other things that had led up to him being kicked off the team. And let's just say in the actions of today's college athletes you have to do a lot to be considered worthy of being kicked off a team (especially as the starting QB). I say good for Virginia Tech for having the guts to kick off the star player of the team. So what does Marcus Vick do after being kicked off. He declares himself ready to enter the NFL draft! Though good, Vick has nowhere near the talent of his older brother, who is having enough trouble himself being successful in the NFL. Basically, this is a cop out move because he has nowhere else to turn. Apparently, Vick felt he had not received enough media attention and so he decides to pull a gun on a kid in a McDonalds. "Police said the parents of a 17-year-old boy reported that Vick pointed a weapon at their son and two others during an altercation Sunday night at a McDonald's in Suffolk, a southeastern Virginia city where Vick's mother lives". Of all places...McDonald's...people are trying to enjoy their #2 plain w/ cheese only, and some idiot decides to pull out his gun. No respect. If convicted, Vick could face several years in McJail! Let's hope he does us all a favor and goes there. What a testimony to the immaturity and lack of any moral conviction that so many of today's college athlete's have. It's a good thing we still have the good ole' NFL to watch mature and level headed players still play for the love of the game!

Anyone who pulls a gun on me while I am enjoying the greatest fast-food joint ever created is no friend of mine.
