Good Ole Fresno

I found this on the web and couldn't help but comment on it:

Strange But TrueBubble or Nothingby wil b. strange
So, you think you can blow a big bubble with gum, do ya?
Maybe one about six inches in diameter? Maybe eight? Maybe even one as big around as your head?
That's nuthin'. How 'bout a bubble almost two feet across!!
No joke. Susan Mont"gum"ery Williams of Fresno, California, chompin' on three pieces of gum, huffed and puffed till she had a 23-inch whopper way back in July 1994.
Pretty impressive. Nobody else has come close, but the Dubble Bubble folks are trying by holding an annual National Bubble Blowing Contest.
A couple of years ago, Adam Feagley, a 12-year-old from Florida, won the first-ever contest with a 17-inch bubble!
The key, says the champ, is to "blow very slow." Don't laugh. For his victory, Adam picked up a $10,000 savings bond and an all-expenses paid trip to Disney World! He also was flown to New York for some TV appearances. "I only hope I end up on Rosie," Adam said.
Adam's winning orb still stands as the biggest in Dubble Bubble competition. Last year's winner, Anna Hansen, also from Florida, took the prize with a 13-incher.
The secret to bigness? The Dubble Bubble Web site (dubblebubble.com, what else?) recommends five pieces of gum and a teaspoon of peanut butter. And you should chew the gum at least five minutes to dissolve the sugar.
The site says, "To blow a bodacious bubble, really stick out your tongue so that you can get a really huge bubble pocket."
Well, duh!

Several things stand out here:
1) this was posted on www.christianitytoday.com, what in the world does this have to do w/ Christianity? I am glad to see the depths of journalism they are reaching over there at the online magazine. http://www.christianitytoday.com/cl/2002/002/23.70.html
2) Was anyone surprised that this girl was from Fresno?
3) People actually care about this enough to report it...what is this world coming to.
